Is this the End of Neo-Conservatism?
Bullet Points on economic philosophy, first drafted on Nov. 10, published on Dec. 30, 2008
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The extent of the current economic crisis and the international reactions towards it, have inspired Noah denkt™ to
publish the following conclusions:

  1. Neo-conservatism in its present form is dead, and it should be.
  2. Neo-conservatism is dead because of the underlying hypocrisy that characterized its theory.
  3. Its double-standard hypocrisy is best visible in the self-serving recklessness with which the proponents of
this ideology are now asking governments for the same kind of subsidies that they previously criticized
    others for.
  4. If the foremost representatives of neo-conservatism ultimately were unable to avoid betraying their own
ideas, it is because they falsely opted for a technocratic market philosophy which right from the start
exempted them from having to personally accept the excruciating pain that the exercise of freedom and
    reason naturally imposes.
  5. If the technocratic version of neo-conservatism is dead, the existentialist interpretation of it should not be
    so.
  6. The existentialist interpretation of neo-conservatism should be treasured because:

  1. it is still in the interest of reason and humanity life to use the world’s resources in the most efficient
    way.
  2. it is still in the interest of reason and humanity to improve mankind’s material well-being as best it can
  3. it is still in the interest of reason and humanity that man should realize his full talent and potential
  4. it is still in the interest of reason and humanity that man should explore the meaning of reason and
freedom and thereby exercise his right to self-determination
  5. it is still in the interest of reason and humanity that government bureaucracy should support
individual freedom and not vice versa.
