Passive aggression is the better aggression
Observation, first drafted on Nov 10, published on Nov. 14, 2007

It is a pity that passive aggressiveness is viewed with such a sceptic and unwelcoming eye by the psycho-analytic
public. For what better way is there to make a continuously uncooperative partner understand how unacceptable
his lack of respect is than by not concealing to him the loss of amiability that his egotism has resulted in?
No, if we want to be honest here, we have to accept, that there is no other means, to bring a constructive dialog
about but to wait until an antagonistic partner is capable of questioning his own personal views. And so it is
actually inevitable to somewhat leak to him the hurt that his lack of balance is causing us. For too little would one
else have communicated to him the strain that his insistence is exercising on us that we could now still hope to
eventually overcome the latter.
Given therefore, that peace and understanding can not always be had instantaneously but must, at times, be
fought for by quiet consequentialness we can only urge the psycho-analytic public to be patient with its pain. For
too much is it the silent shouldering of that which will make the hurting go away that we should now still be afraid
of bearing it.
Now obviously some people will argue against the aforementioned assertion that a passive acceptance of one’s
pain is unhealthy and will only lead to self-destructive behaviour. And so they will tell us, that it is better to
verbalize one’s inconvenience than to harbour it eternally. For too much, so the critics say, does a silent strategy
impair one’s happiness, that could now still hope to find it.
What the apologetics of this position however neglect is that a conclusively formulated position of quiet resistance
is not as quiet as it seems. For too deafening will its silence eventually be , that it could now still be viewed as
acquiescing stance.
No, no, if we do not want to fool ourselves, we have to recognize, that verbally expressing our pain only works in a
cooperative setting. And so it does not make sense to repeat the latter endlessly if it’s earlier version has not
been heeded anyway. For too much would one thereby undermine one’s own, personal reasoning that one could
now still trust to be taken seriously with it.
No, no and a third time no, if we really want to find happiness, we have to accept that the latter has a certain
immaterial streak. And so we cannot really hope to achieve the same without challenging our physical health. For
too much does the preservation of our sanity rely on taking existential risks that we could now still expect to avoid
the ensuing pain.
Given therefore that a peaceful resolution of conflicts occasionally necessitates the chill that a love withdrawal
emanates, Noah denkt™ prays that the extroverted will learn how to manage passion. For too superficial will their
aspirations otherwise be that they could now still hope to find a lasting satisfaction therein.
