Bad Programming?
Observation on the possibility of success, first drafted on Dec. 6, published on Dec 14, 2007

The question that Noah denkt™ is currently wrestling with is this: How can anyone who cannot even get the
attention of a waiter in a restaurant legitimately hope that he will ever be successful in the market place? After all,
this person obviously lacks both the charisma and the wherewithal to make his presence felt. And so it is only
natural that all his marketing activities must end in vain. For too little does he project his self-esteem on to others
that he could now still hope to impress them.

And in deed, one cannot deny that this market place seems to be made for the born winners only. For too self-
assured do you have to be to survive in an elbow setting, that you could now still want to enter that, without the
necessary stare-down power.

If, however, Noah denkt™ still holds the conviction, that even a sensitive worshipper of the categoric imperative
can turn into a capitalistic achiever, than it is only because it feels that too much breast-thumping prevents the
market participant from truly understanding the challenges that the future holds for him. And so he only
disadvantages himself if he does not question his beliefs. For too little has he laid low, in this instance, to listen to
the enemy that he could now still bank on defeating him.

No, if we want to do reality justice here, we have to accept, that freedom and capitalism are a complex thing. And
so one cannot hope to survive therein without the necessary circumspection. For too little would one else have
analysed its very own dynamic, that one could now still plan on benefiting from it.

Given therefore that the real turbo-capitalistic talent is not to be found in the extroverted, we advice all the one-
dimensional bazaar tycoons to stop following their archaic ways of yesteryear. For too much do they thereby live
the feudal and totalitarian traumas of the past, that they could now still thrive with them in a democratized
environment.

To those however, who are too shy to force the waiter to attend we would like to say that they have everything to
be hopeful for. And so they should not despair of their current invisibility. For too perfect is their courtesy that they
will not eventually gain from it.

Now, obviously, one does not have to be a prophet to anticipate that the proponents of a showy Wall Street
capitalism will counter this argument by saying, that you cannot be a hesitater if you want take advantage of the
opportunities that there are. For too little would you then have built the necessary relationships that you could now
still trust on using them.

To those however who want to make us believe that capitalistic prudence is primarily to be found in an impulse
grabbing exercise, we would like to say that nothing could be further off the mark. For too little would one in this
case have questioned one’s own desires that one could now still hope to be truly able to satisfy them.

No, no, if do not want to fool ourselves here, we have to accept, that the ultimate wisdom rests in a balance
between our short- and long-term interests. And so we cannot permit ourselves to take one or the other out of the
equation. For too little would we then have offset our desires, that we could now still think of realizing them.
